We have two waxing services available here at The Retreat Health and Beauty Salon; you can choose from either our standard tea tree warm wax or Epiloderm wax.
All of the products we use are suitable for the most sensitive of skins, however we also feel that a wax shouldn't just be a wax! We wanted to be able to provide a premium service, which is why we introduced Epiloderm in April 2018.

Epiloderm is a 100% natural, peelable wax designed by a French Beauty Therapist who saw a gap in the hair removal market. It leaves no sticky residue, causes less irritation to your skin and reduces the amount of ingrowing hairs you may experience with a standard wax.
Epiloderm isn't only a patented hair removal product, it also adds a little extra beauty care to your waxing routine. Whilst removing the hairs less painfully, it moisturises and exfoliates the skin too.
The Retreat Health and Beauty Salon sells the Epiloderm homecare products, so that you can carry on looking after your skin effectively in between waxing appointments.
Our standard tea tree warm wax is great for all skin types, including sensitive, and is used on most areas of the body such as legs, eyebrows, lip, chin and underarms. It is also suitable for both finer and thicker hairs. It is a warm wax that is applied and then removed with a paper strip.
Please be aware, we may need a GP note if you suffer from any of the following: diabetes, on roaccutane, cancer, epilepsy, eczema, psoriasis, recent operation/scar tissue within six months, contagious skin conditions such as impetigo, stye, boils, conjunctivitus, shingles, ringworm and scabies.
Please contact the salon and read our Terms and Conditions for further information.
To get the best out of your treatment, please read the below instructions carefully and follow them as strictly as possible to ensure your own health and safety.
If you are using, or have used, Roaccutane within the last 12 months, waxing is not suitable for you.
Please ensure you are freshly showered, especially if you are planning on working out before your body waxing appointment.
Please avoid hot baths or showers, saunas, hot tubs, massage, steam treatments, swimming, sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tan for at least 24 hours after your appointment.
We do not advise any form of exercise, from playing a sport to a gym workout, for a minimum of 24 hours afterwards. This is because the follicles will still be open and you run the risk of infection.
Do not touch the waxed area with unwashed hands.
Do not apply any products to the waxed area that have not been recommended by your therapist, otherwise it may sting a tad!
Avoid products containing retinol and AHA's for 48 hours.
Intimate waxing- you know what we are going to say- just avoid it for 24 hours!
Facial waxing- you are best to avoid applying makeup unless it is a pure mineral product, such as our Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup.
Intimate waxing is just as it says. It is an extremely delicate area and we take the treatment very seriously. For this reason we ensure that our therapists attend specific Brazilian and Hollywood training sessions, so that they know exactly what they are doing and you can have complete confidence in their abilities.
For intimate waxing we use a hot wax. It is applied to the skin, allowed to dry and then removed. We may use a tea tree warm wax which is removed with a paper strip in some areas as well.
Please read our Waxing Pre and Post Care!
All hair is removed between the buttock cheeks, and inner/outer labia, leaving a 'landing strip' on the pubic mound.
Standard wax £22.50
Epiloderm wax £26.00

If this is your first intimate wax, we advise that you trim the hair to approximately 1/4-1/2 inch. We can do this for you during your appointment, however you will feel more comfortable if you do this yourself at home. We advise using nail scissors (and a lot of care!)
We offer a longer appointment of 45 minutes for your first Brazilian or Hollywood treatment, so that you do not feel rushed and your therapist has the time to explain every step carefully to you.
If this is a repeat appointment, please ensure that you have at least 3-4 weeks growth. Anything less and you will not get the smooth result you would like. If we feel there isn't enough hair growth, we reserve the right not to carry out the treatment.
Where possible please be freshly showered. If you are arriving straight from work please let us know, and we will ensure you get the chance to freshen up before your wax.
It is probably not a good idea to wear tight jeans or scratchy underwear after your appointment!
Your therapist will apply soothing lotion after your treatment, however we also recommend the use of aloe vera gel. We sell this in small, handy tubes at the salon.
There is no such thing as a pain-free wax, but we will try to keep any discomfort to a minimum. Once clients begin having intimate waxing, we find they want to continue with further treatments. So, dare to bare!
Please be aware, we may need a GP note if you suffer from any of the following: diabetes, on roaccutane, cancer, epilepsy, eczema, psoriasis, blood thinning medication, active outbreak of herpes simplex, recent operation/scar tissue within six months, contagious skin conditions such as impetigo, boils, shingles, ringworm and scabies.
Please call the salon and read our Terms and Conditions for further information.
